Korbit Confirms Full FLOW Services in Korea

Korbit, one of Korea's longest-operating exchanges, independently confirmed this week that all remediation related to the December security incident has been completed. Korbit removed FLOW from its trading caution designation, restoring full FLOW trading, deposits, and withdrawals.

Alongside Korbit, the following major exchanges have independently completed compliance reviews and fully restored FLOW trading, deposits, and withdrawals: Coinbase, Kraken, OKX, Gate.io, HTX, Binance, Bybit, KuCoin, Bitget, MEXC, and BitMart.

FLOW is also available on decentralized exchanges including swap.flow.com, KittyPunch, IncrementFi, and FlowSwap.io.

Remaining Korean Exchanges

On February 12, 2026, Upbit, Bithumb, and Coinone announced the termination of FLOW trading support effective March 16, 2026, with withdrawal support ending April 16, 2026. The exchanges cited their internal trading caution policies, stating that the explanatory materials were insufficient to resolve the trading caution designation stemming from the December security incident.

All other exchange partners have re-enabled FLOW trading on their platforms. Korbit stated that the technical measures for the security incident have been completed, and the reasons for the trading caution designation have been resolved. They cited multiple pieces of explanatory materials that supported their conclusion. These are all publicly available:

  1. The detailed, complete technical post-mortem report
  2. The onchain destruction of counterfeit FLOW
  3. Notice of a buyback and burn of 50M FLOW

The position of the Foundation is that the termination of FLOW trading on these three platforms (Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone) would not serve the best interests of Korean users, and the Foundation has communicated this directly to these exchanges.

The priority of Flow Foundation is ensuring that the Korean community maintains healthy, reliable access to FLOW. This takes multiple forms:

  • Supporting Korbit as a continued Korean trading venue
  • Actively pursuing additional exchange partnerships in the region
  • Continued commitment to the FLOW token through various initiatives
  • Expanding self-custody access options & ensuring support for users
  • Using every available legal, regulatory, and commercial channel to advocate for the Korean community

The Foundation is also hiring a General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region to lead Flow presence across Korea, China, Japan, and the broader Asia-Pacific market. Growth in this region and support for this community is a priority for Flow in 2026.

Flow Holders on Coinone, Bithumb, & Upbit

While the Foundation is actively pursuing all available channels to resolve this situation, Korean users holding FLOW on the affected exchanges should be aware of the announced timelines and consider their options. FLOW can be withdrawn to Korbit or to a self-custodial wallet to ensure no interruptions to your access and trading. The rest of this article walks through these two options.

Before You Start

Korean exchanges typically enforce what's called the "Travel Rule" (트래블룰) on all crypto withdrawals. This means you cannot simply enter a wallet address and withdraw. Before attempting any transfer, it is recommended that you:

  1. Register the destination wallet through your exchange's travel rule system before attempting to withdraw
  2. Complete all verification levels on your current exchange to minimise chance of disruption
  3. If transferring to Korbit: Create and verify your account on the receiving exchange FIRST, then generate a FLOW deposit address there
  4. Always test with a small amount (5-10 FLOW) before transferring your full balance

Preparing Where To Receive Flow

Option 1: Using Korbit

Setting Up an Account on Korbit:

  1. Download the Korbit app (코빗) from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Register and complete identity verification (KYC)
  3. Wait for verification approval

Once verified, generate a FLOW deposit address:

  1. Open the Korbit app
  2. Navigate to Deposits/Withdrawals (입출금)
  3. Find FLOW and select "Deposit" (입금)
  4. Click "Generate deposit address" (입금 주소 생성) if you haven't already
  5. Copy the deposit address displayed. If a memo or tag is shown, copy that too

Important: Only deposit FLOW to your FLOW wallet address. Depositing a different token or using the wrong network can result in asset loss. We recommend getting fully verified before depositing any assets.

Option 2: Using A Self-Custody Wallet

If you prefer to hold your FLOW in a wallet you fully control, rather than on an exchange, we recommend Flow Wallet if you don't have a self-custody wallet yet.

Create Your Wallet:

  1. Download or visit Flow Wallet
  2. Select "Create New Wallet"
  3. Write down your recovery phrase and store it somewhere safe. This is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access
  4. Set up a password
  5. Your wallet is ready. You now have a Flow address

Important: Flow Wallet supports both the Cadence and EVM environments on Flow. You do not need to choose; your wallet works with both. To move assets between Flow and other networks like Ethereum, use bridge.flow.com.

Withdrawing FLOW from Your Current Exchange

Once you have either a deposit address from Korbit or the wallet address from your self-custody wallet, you can switch to your current exchange (Upbit, Bithumb, or Coinone) and follow the steps below. It's recommended to first do this process with a small, nominal amount of FLOW.

For the best guidance to withdraw your FLOW, refer to the support guides for the exchange you are using currently:

Once your FLOW tokens are either in Korbit or in your self-custody wallet, your assets are secure in the event of termination of FLOW trading support. Keep your wallet login details secure, and we recommend setting up a backup option to ensure you don't lose access. At this stage, there are numerous options for using your FLOW:

Stake

Earn approximately 9% APY by staking your FLOW directly from Flow Wallet.

  1. Open Flow Wallet
  2. Navigate to the staking section
  3. Choose a validator (or use the default delegation)
  4. Stake your desired amount
  5. Your staking rewards accrue automatically

Staking does not lock your tokens permanently. You can unstake, though there is an unstaking period. Alternative staking options include:

  • Liquid Staking on Ankr. Stake your FLOW while keeping it liquid — move, swap, or trade your staked position anytime.
  • Peak Money. A new DeFi app built on Flow offering competitive yields for FLOW, USD, BTC, and ETH holders. Currently in invite-only early access.
  • More Markets. A DeFi lending and yield platform on Flow, offering FLOW yields, USD yields, and a lending market.

Swap, Trade or Bridge

You can swap and trade with FLOW and other tokens using decentralized exchanges (DEXes):

  • swap.flow.com — Official Flow swap aggregator. Finds the best rate across Flow DEXes.
  • KittyPunch / PunchSwap — Primary EVM-side DEX on Flow. Can connect with Flow Wallet or an EVM-based wallet like MetaMask.
  • IncrementFi — Primary Cadence-side DEX. Also offers farming, lending, and liquid staking. Works with Flow Wallet.

You can also purchase digital collectibles using FLOW:

  • OpenSea — The largest crypto marketplace, offering digital collectibles for sale in FLOW
  • Flowty — An NFT marketplace combined with NFT rentals and loan service, enabling you to earn returns from your digital assets.

If you want to move assets between Flow and other networks:

  • Official Flow Bridge — Support for bridging FLOW, USDC, and other assets in and out of Flow across dozens of networks.
  • Stargate — A LayerZero-powered bridge. Move USDC, USDT, and ETH between Flow and Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, and BNB Chain.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Trading ends March 16, but withdrawals remain open until April 16, 2026 at 3:00 PM KST. After April 16, contact your exchange directly for their specific policy on remaining balances. We recommend transferring your FLOW well before the April 16 deadline to ensure uninterrupted access.
No. The termination of trading support is specific to three Korean exchanges (Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone). FLOW remains actively traded on Korbit, Binance, HTX, Kraken, OKX, Bybit, MEXC, KuCoin, Bitget, Gate.io, and others globally.
Yes. Flow remains an open, permissionless, decentralized global network. The Korean exchange situation does not affect the Flow network, your tokens, or any applications built on Flow. You can hold, stake, swap, and use FLOW as normal through your wallet and DEXes. The network has been operating continuously since the exploit without incident, and the counterfeit tokens have been permanently destroyed.
Yes. FLOW is traded on a range of centralized and decentralized exchanges. The Foundation is working to ensure liquidity and trading options remain uninterrupted for all users.
Flow Wallet is the official wallet for the Flow network. It is self-custody, meaning only you hold the keys. As long as you keep your recovery phrase secure, your assets are solely and fully under your control. You can find support and help for Flow Wallet via the Flow Discord: discord.gg/flow
The Travel Rule (트래블룰) is a Korean regulatory requirement that applies to all crypto transfers. It requires exchanges to verify sender and receiver identity information. This means you must register your destination wallet address through your exchange's whitelist or travel rule system before you can withdraw. Each exchange handles this slightly differently. See the withdrawal instructions above for exchange-specific steps.
Korbit has already independently confirmed that all remediation is complete and continues to offer full FLOW services. The Foundation is actively engaging DAXA to pursue resolution with the remaining exchanges, and will share updates when the dialogue progresses.
